The wood

For vocation

In the forest massifs of the Jura Mountains, the Chauvin Sawmill works exclusively with softwood. An exceptional territory that has always been sustainably managed and regularly gives birth to firs and spruces of altitude unanimously appreciated for their aesthetic qualities and mechanical resistance.

The cult of transmission

Four generations of the Chauvin family have succeeded each other over a century without ever deviating from the specificities of the Jura mountains. From father to son, with a ritual of shared management between brothers, the company has now reached a European dimension. Its progression over the decades is the result of the determination of the various managers to maintain the quality of the materials and services offered. Then, lately, the particularly visionary character of the sawmill’s managers.

Producers of innovative solutions

In the conventional wood market, the uses of the material are becoming legion. Transforming high-altitude softwood requires anticipating demands in order to propose increasingly technical products in an ever-expanding range. The teams are therefore fully invested, high-tech tools reinforce traditional equipment, logistics are refined, commercial representation is intensified… The managers of the Chauvin Sawmill are committed to a dynamic approach of customized products and services in response to the diversity of customer needs.

State-of-the-art tools.
The precision of the industry for personalized services

The added value of the Chauvin Sawmill lies in the quality and aesthetics of its products. The result, in fact, of three parameters: the great forest origin, the high-performance tools, the rigor of grading.

Two production lines with, on the one hand, a Canter-circular system for small timber and, on the other hand, a bi-cut band saw that offers complementary sawing flexibility. Product sorting is mechanized and automated by trimmers and automatic stackers. The Chauvin Sawmill regularly invests in the means to develop the offer in response to an evolving market.
